Helmholtz Galvanometer

It consists of two equal co-axial coils (parallel to each other) seperated by a distance equal to the radius of the coils.

The permanent magnetic compass is pivoted on the brass cup at the midway between them and in the same direction. The coils increase the uniformity of the fields in the middle and thus make it more sensitive. Supplied with a superior quality permanent magnetic compass box.
